This building was designed as the home office of Central Florida Eye Specialists and Laser Center, Inc. with specialty areas unique to the practice of ophthalmology. The facility includes twelve exam rooms organized as two independent work zones for physicians with common elements located in the center of the "L" shaped structure. Staff areas include, Medical Records, Accounting and Insurance Offices, as well as an Office Manager's Office and an area for Telephone Operators. There is a large Employee Lounge with direct access to the exterior and there are two private physician offices each with private restrooms. Common core elements include large Waiting and Reception areas; Patient Work-Up Lanes; Visual Field, Laser and Procedures Rooms; Surgery Scheduling Offices; a Data Room; Patient Restrooms and Sub-Waiting Areas, as well as an expansive Nurse's Station. The facility also includes a Minor Procedures Suite and an Optical Department which is visible from and immediately accessible from the Waiting Room. Another important component of this design is the additional 1,440 s.f. of a full story attic area which is accessed from both the Employee Lounge and Medical Records areas by means of pull down stairs. There is also a dumb waiter from Medical Records to the Attic which is air conditioned and structured to house storage of records and the like. The attic is hidden within the roof structure of the building thereby making the building look like a one-story structure.
